Price checks: how to ask

Not sure what something is worth? Ask here before you buy or sell. This is a guide, not a rule, and nobody is bound by the answers.

Your title
Pick a tag and name the item:

• [SELL?] for "what should I ask for this?"

• [BUY?] for "is this a fair price?"

• [ANSWERED] when you've got what you needed. Change your own tag.

Code:

[BUY?] Dye DSR+ 2019, lightly used - asking $850 [SELL?] Planet Eclipse Geo4, player's marker

Give people something to work with

• Exact model and year, and what's included.

• Condition (new, like new, lightly used, player's marker, for parts), plus any mods.

• Photos if you have them.

• The asking price and a link, if you're deciding whether to buy.

Answering

• Give a range and your reasoning, like recent sales or the condition. Say if your information is old.

• Be kind about it. "Too much" is a fine answer. Mocking someone's price isn't.

• Recent sold listings (not just asking prices) are the best reference.
