Reporting a problem trade

Most trades go fine. When one doesn't, here's how to handle it fairly. This forum is for problems and shout-outs. Regular feedback goes on the listing itself (how that works).

1. Talk to them first
Message the other person calmly. Many problems are delays or misunderstandings. Give shipping a few days before you assume the worst.

2. Still stuck? Post here
Start a new thread and pick a tag:
  • [SCAM ALERT] for fraud or someone who has gone silent after being paid.
  • [NEGATIVE] for a bad experience that isn't fraud (item not as described, poor packing).
  • [POSITIVE] for a shout-out to someone who went above and beyond.
  • [RESOLVED] when it's sorted. Change your own tag and say how it ended.

Include the facts
Code:
Listing link: What was agreed (item, price, payment method): Payment sent (date, PayPal transaction ID): Shipped (date, tracking number): What happened: What I'd like to happen:
Attach screenshots of the messages and the payment. Black out your address, email, and phone number first.

3. What happens next
A moderator reads it and may ask the other person for their side. Depending on what we find, we might nudge both of you to sort it out, add a note to the listing, lock the thread, fix feedback that was clearly a mistake or a retaliation, or remove accounts for fraud. We'll get to it as quickly as we can.

Ground rules here
  • Facts and evidence, not insults. A post with no evidence may be removed until you add some.
  • No personal info: no home addresses, phone numbers, or full names.
  • Keep it to your own case. The other person gets to reply.
  • Paid with PayPal Goods & Services? Open a PayPal dispute early. It has time limits, so don't wait for the forum.
  • Spotted something suspicious but not sure? Use the Report button and a moderator will take a look.
